2010 Consumer Electronics Show

I just got back from Las Vegas- had a great time at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show. There was a buzz and positive energy at the show that was noticed by most everyone I spoke with, a stark contrast to last year, which was kind of gloomy given the economic conditions.

Welcome to Las Vegas!
I’ll be posting my findings over the next week or so. The big story of the show was undoubtedly 3D TV, which promises to be big. I’ve never been a fan of 3D in the past, but the new systems have made me a believer. The missing link was high definition resolution and image quality. Combined with 3D, it really puts you there! When people see this in the stores, they are going to want it. Best news it won’t cost much more than a high-grade HDTV and lots of 3D content is forthcoming.
There was a lot of neat stuff at the high-end audio exhibits. Vinyl record fans will especially like what I have to show you. I saw some neat stuff under NDA (non disclosure agreement) that I will not be able to discuss for a few months.
Finally- starting Wednesday I can going to try reviving the Product of the Day feature, starting with some neat stuff I saw at the show. The entries will be short and sweet. I think the reason I fell off the wagon the first time is a lot of the entries ended up being 1,000 words or more, which is hard to keep up with when you are trying to create and find images, too.
So, on to the show!
