{"id":1241,"date":"2009-02-13T01:32:50","date_gmt":"2009-02-13T06:32:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.soundadviceblog.com\/?p=1241"},"modified":"2009-02-13T01:32:50","modified_gmt":"2009-02-13T06:32:50","slug":"blu-ray-review-igor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.soundadviceblog.com\/?p=1241","title":{"rendered":"Blu-ray Review: Igor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.soundadviceblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/igorfront.jpg\" alt=\"igorfront.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Igor<br \/>\n20th Century Fox Home Entertainment<br \/>\nBlu-ray Disc Review By Jerry Rutledge <\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Igor is a macabre and quirky, computer animated comedy, worth a rent especially if you\u2019re a fan of Tim Burton\u2019s animated work, such as The Nightmare Before Christmas or Corpse Bride.\u00a0 The title character Igor (voiced by John Cusack) is a citizen of the make believe country of Malaria whose evil scientists compete each year to make the most evil invention.\u00a0 The rest of the world must pay Malaria not to unleash its evil inventions.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.soundadviceblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/igorback.jpg\" alt=\"igorback.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The kind hearted Igor wants to be an evil inventor in a society in which Igor\u2019s are second class citizens.\u00a0 When Igor\u2019s evil scientist master Dr. Glikenstein (voiced by John Cleese) blows himself up in an experiment gone wrong, Igor has a chance to make his own creation.\u00a0 He is aided by two companions, Scamper (voiced by Steve Buscemi) an indestructible rabbit with a death wish, and the loyal but not to bright Brain in a Jar (voiced by Sean Hays).\u00a0 He is opposed by snobby, evil scientist Shadenfreude (voiced by Eddie Izzard) and his sharp tongued, shape-shifting mistress Jaclyn (voiced by Jennifer Coolidge).\u00a0 Igor\u2019s creation Eva (voiced by Molly Shannon), a giant female Frankenstein who can speak eloquently, seems to turn out more good than evil, so Dr. Shadenfreude plots to unleash her evil side and use her to his own ends at the yearly evil scientist competition in a battle royale of evil inventions.\u00a0 Igor and his companions must rescue Eva and expose Dr. Shadenfreude and what he represents.<\/p>\n<p>The Disc includes in-film commentary by the produced, writer and director;
