{"id":1662,"date":"2010-01-18T02:15:19","date_gmt":"2010-01-18T07:15:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.soundadviceblog.com\/blu-ray\/dreamer-blutv-product-of-the-day-day-5-2010\/"},"modified":"2010-01-18T02:15:19","modified_gmt":"2010-01-18T07:15:19","slug":"dreamer-blutv-product-of-the-day-day-5-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.soundadviceblog.com\/?p=1662","title":{"rendered":"Dreamer BluTV : Product of the Day, Day 5, 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.soundadviceblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/dreamer_0.jpg\" alt=\"dreamer_0.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.refer-a-buddy.com\" onclick=\"rab0308('soundadviceblog-com.cgi-data.com','165479773','0','0'); return false;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.smallgreentree.net\/buddybuttons\/default.gif\" alt=\"Tell A Friend!\" style=\"border: medium none \" height=\"43\" width=\"147\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At CES 2010 I received a private demonstration of BluTV from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamercorp.com\" target=\"_blank\">Dreamer Corporation<\/a>.\u00a0 It&#8217;s really cool and only the second application of Blu-ray&#8217;s BD-Live that I have found really exciting.<\/p>\n<p>Do you like having a YouTube channel?\u00a0 Well, how would you like to have your own <em>real TV channel<\/em> that anyone in the world with a BD-Live equipped Blu-ray player can access?\u00a0\u00a0 With Dreamer, you can&#8230; and it&#8217;s going to be everywhere soon.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Dreamer&#8217;s technology was developed in Korea, where it has been use on broadband networks for about ten years.\u00a0 (Korea has the best broadband infrastructure in the world, BTW.)\u00a0 Dreamer BluTV uses Blu-ray&#8217;s BD-Live Internet functionality to deliver content such as news, weather, games, shopping, etc.\u00a0 Users can sign up for accounts &#8216;a la YouTube and effectively have their own TV station, complete with e-commerce if they want.\u00a0 I can see this becoming BIG some day.\u00a0 I have ideas for a few TV shows of my own, Dreamer could get them out there pretty easily!<\/p>\n<p>Dreamer BluTV technology is already present on chips used in certain Blu-ray players, such as those offered by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B002EEP3MK?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=donlinssouadv-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B002EEP3MK\" target=\"_blank\">Oppo Digital<\/a>, the first manufacturer to announce support for it.\u00a0 If you do not have a player with the hardware, no problem.\u00a0 Dreamer will send you a disc that will work with your player&#8217;s web connection, much like the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.soundadviceblog.com\/blu-ray\/review-netflix-streaming-for-the-playstation-3-a-two-star-must-have\/\" target=\"_blank\">Netflix PS3 disc<\/a>.
