Recommended Receivers and Amplifiers

Buying a receiver isn’t what it used to be. Today’s receivers not only tune radio stations and drive your speakers, they process surround sound and enhance video signals, as well. You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to get top performance- in fact, spending thousands on a receiver is usually a poor allocation of resources when building a system. Better to get top of the line speakers and a mid-range receiver than a top-of-the-line receiver and mid-range speakers.

There are a lot of great receivers out there, and differences between receivers are miniscule compared to the difference in speakers. These happen to be my favorites, great values and top performers that will work well in a system appropriate to them.
