Pentax X90 megazoom camera for only $264.60 on Amazon.com
The Pentax X90 is a very nice, capable megazoom camera with very good image quality. (It is a megazoom with its 26-676mm equivlaent.) I reviewed its predecessor, the Pentax X70, on a trip to South Florida a couple of years ago and was quite impressed with the results, which have the beautiful, colorful “Pentax look” that I have long loved.
The X90 records high-def video at 720p and 30 frames per second for smooth playback, a noticeable improvement over the X70. It has an HDMI port and image stabilization. Below are a few pics from my Florida trip. Just travel shots, nothing to advance the photographic art but they will give you an idea of what the X90 is capable of.
Trump Beach Resort
The world-famous Fountainebleau
Don’t know what this is, liked the look though
I took this one at the maximum zoom range- I was quite far away.
The only weak point is the battery life, which is a bit lower than some of its competitors. The solution is easy- pack an extra battery, they are small and light.
There may be competitors with fancier features, but the X90 does a most admirable job of the most crucial task- technically excellent, beautiful pictures. If that is your primary goal then this is $265 well spent.
