Speaking of Pentax…

…they have a neat new branding/marketing theme using “Pentaxian”,  a term coined online by Pentax devotees to describe themselves.   It’s all very well done as  Pentax seeks to separate themselves from other brands,  as they promote  the love of photography  with  a touch of reverse snobbery poking fun  at those who brag about their expensive equipment rather than the images they produce.

I got the Pentaxian  T-shirt at the 2007 PMA (Photo Marketing Association) show, and wear it proudly!   I’ve used Pentax gear for years, starting with a  Pentax 645 medium format camera that performed flawlessly and always gave me great images that made others point and take notice.   Pentax color is untouchable and addictive.   For a taste check out my tour of Paul C. Buff, Inc, and  you will see what I mean.   I used my K100D with 16-45mm SMC Pentax lens and 540Z for that one.

There is also the Pentax Photo Gallery, a worldwide archive for Pentax photographers.     If you appreciate good photography and companies trying to inject some fun into the business, check them out at www.pentaxian.com and www.pentaxphotogallery.com.
